September 2022 Newsletter

Ahoy lads and lasses,

It's officially fall! Time for Santa Cruz Open Studios 2022!

I will be showing my work at the Santa Cruz Art Center with one of my best friends, the talented Cloisonné Jeweler Darci Shea, as well as quilter and mixed media artist Ann Baldwin May. I will be doing both North County weekend, October 1 and 2, as well as All County weekend, October 15 and 16.

And hey, check it out! I made the North County artist's page in the Artist Guide! (see page 5 in the paper version)

I'll have the piece I'm working on in this photo finished just in time for Open Studios this year! Come by and say hi, see my work and learn a little more about my process.

New Bronze Pieces
Over the past few months I've been working on a few new bronze sculptures including some more affordable options!

I'm excited to have these new Wooden Book Ends, Lighthouse Business Card Holders, and Queen Chess Pieces available for purchase on WhatKnotStudios.com.
Patreon Video Release: Filigree - Part 2
Last month we released  Filigree part. 1, so this month you get part 2!

Here is part 2 of the process for creating the Rectangle Filigree Pendant and Earrings. The Rectangle Filigree series is being discontinued, and although the necklace and earrings are gone there is still a bracelet and ring available at whatknotstudios.com.

I'm looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces at Open Studios this year! Here's to a cozy yet productive fall - maybe consider coming up to the north coast for one of those infamous pick-your-own pumpkin farm experiences!

Cheers,

Courtney Renee Scruggs
